Trust in the numbers is the whole point of this site, so the sourcing rules are strict.
Official sources only
Eurostat — the EU's statistical office: public finances, GDP, inflation, unemployment, population and housing.
ECB — interest rates, the Eurosystem balance sheet, money supply, exchange rates and bond yields.
IMF — the World Economic Outlook, used for cross-country forecasts.
How it is collected
Data is fetched by deterministic code that reads the published series directly. We never use AI or estimation to fill in an economic figure — every value traces back to an official release. Numbers are validated before they are stored, and obvious anomalies are flagged rather than published.
Revisions
Official statistics are revised as more information arrives. When a source updates a past value, the site updates with it, so what you see reflects the latest official position.
